Adolf Bertram is appointed bishop of Hildesheim, Germany. Although he will oppose some aspects of the Nazi agenda, as Cardinal and Archbishop of Breslau Bertram will be an important supporter of the idea that Catholics should remain loyal to the Nazi government and to Adolf Hitler.
