Austrian philosopher F. A. Moritz Schlick is born in Berlin, Germany. An important figure in the development of logical positivism in the Vienna Circle, Schlick disagrees with the position of other positivists that ethics cannot be studied scientifically.

F. A. Moritz Schlick argues that, as products of human desires and as a driving force behind human actions, it is possible to say meaningful things about ethics.
