Anna Maria Schwegelin becomes the last person sentenced to death for witchcraft in Germany.

Records show that she freely confesses to making a pact with the Devil, but for some reason she's forgotten about in prison and the death sentence is never carried out. Instead, she dies of natural causes in jail in 1781.
