Deusdedit II (Adeodatus II) is elected pope.

Already a very old man, Adeodatus II manages to reign for four years. Not much is accomplished, but he does reaffirm and defend the orthodox Christian belief that Christ had two wills (human and divine).

The belief that Christ had just one will is a heresy known as Monothelitism and it has received strong support from political and religious leaders in Constantinople (including from Constantine I, patriarch of Constantinople).
